Yep, that's what i'm doing now, which is no hardship. I set the pb to the point i want to start from, then rw 2 seconds. (This enables the metronome to sound, me to get ready to play, etc...) Use case is: Set the pb point (minus 2) then hit SPACE and record. Next track, setpos (up arrow for the same point), rw (2 secs), REC, rinse and repeat, etc.... If we can setpos in either running or stopped engine mode, even if a track is set to REC, then imho, it will remove a lot of donkey work, and make the workflow more intuitive, not to mention quite a bit faster. (imho) Couple this with the discussion about the track having REC priority over the bus, and the user can get some serious momentum when doing multiple recordings for long periods, with the minimum of keystrokes. The point of this is not to let the admin, i.e. setting up and preparing, get in the way of the momentum of creative flow. Regards, Alex. p.s. The world of non-gui has me by the throat now..... :) Pure workflow, and no mouse. Woohoo.
