      Hello All,

It would seem appropriate for me to give my thoughts on this list and why
it was created. The so called, “North American Blind Golf Alliance” was formed
in principle to be a forum for those who love the great game of golf and happen
to be afflicted with significant sight loss. The premise for its creation was
to enable all of us to communicate freely, exchange ideas and to host
tournaments.

We are a community of golfers that do not discriminate on the level of
sight loss and in my opinion, our main focus should be to inspire, motivate,
and assist those who deal with the loss of sight. Whether those of you choose
to leave the USBGA, choose to not renew your dues etc… is a matter for your
individual conscience and conviction. As has been stated by others, I am a
Member of the USBGA until I resign in writing. Should the USBGA change its
discriminatory practices, I may once again become a participating Member.

Now, the issue of a new formal organization. We shall all see what plays
out in the coming months… One thing is for sure; there will be a Ryder Cup
team competition here in Ohio between Canada and the US, an invitational
tournament in San Antonio, and Howard’s Tournament in California. Brian
MacLeod has also graciously opened his tournament up to players here in the
States.

In closing I will simply state that I truly care about each of you on
this list and will work hard to demonstrate my above stated goals on your
behalf: inspire, motivate, and support those who deal with the loss of sight.
I will not however work for bigoted individuals who believe they are entitled
to favorable treatment solely based on their level of sight loss.

Enough of this heavy stuff… I wish all of you a great couple of weeks
leading up to a blessed and joyous Holiday Season. My very best to you and
your families…

      Here’s to a wonderful all-inclusive 2010 golfing season!

      Mark
