Hi family!
For all those in the Merchantville NJ area…I could use your help!
The Merchantville Green Team is leading an effort to collect thin plastic thru
the TREX recycling challenge. You know…that nasty single use stuff (case
overwrap, bubble wrap, grocery bags…) that is IMPOSSIBLE to eliminate
completely from our consumer purchases and that no municipality recycles.
TREX does recycle this nasty stuff and if we achieve our goal, the town will
get a TREX bench and 500 pounds of thin plastic will be diverted from
landfills.
So far, we have collected 250 pounds but we really need to ramp it up to meet
our goal of 500 pounds by October 31st.
The collection bins are located at our sustainability partners:
The Station Coffee 10 East Chestnut Merchantville
Ryan’s Retail 22 North Centre Merchantville
The Refill Market 10 Haddon Ave Haddon Township
I am also offering drop off on my front porch at 210 Westminster Avenue.
See the link below for what is accepted. All plastic must be clean and dry
