[muglo] question of backup

We have a number of songs stored on an old eMac and I have added an
external drive to move the songs over and store there and try and free
up some space.
My questions are....
where is the iTunes music library stored so I can move them over to
the external drive;
and when playing the music from iTunes, how will it know to look on
the external drive for the songs?
