Marlene. Look in your User/Library/Preferences folder for a file
named 'com.apple.finder.plist'.
Throw it in the trash.
Log out of your account and log back in.
It might help. generally, on my machine here, if I try to get the
Network window and it flashes open then disappears, I trash that
file, as somehow it has become corrupted. It *might* have something
to do with your situation too.
