dang... there's 3 different versions of the 400mhz G4:

g4.html>

Fortunately, they all take the same RAM... and there are 4 slots
available, so the oldest G4/400 (PCI) can take up to 1gb of RAM
(4x256mb) and the other 2 models can take up to 1.5gb for OS9 or 2gb
for OS X.

I'd recommend going in to Computer Liquidators on Horton and seeing
what they have. It's fairly old (and plentiful) memory, so there
should be lots available, cheap.

Of course, it also depends on how many slots she has available. If
she has to remove existing RAM in order to install new stuff, the
value is somewhat lost since there will now be unused memory sitting
in a junk drawer somewhere.
