You can use Leopard Assist to fake out the open firmware on your G4. This will allow you to install Leopard on a <867MHz G4 from the DVD. http://leopardassist.sourceforge.net/ There is a reason why Apple set the minimum requirements so high, Leopard is a resource hog. I suggest using CCC to make an image of your system before upgrading to Leopard. Then I would install Leopard and see if the results are acceptable. You can always use CCC to restore the image of your old system if it doesn't work out the way you wanted it to. http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html Cheers, Dean > From: fyabug@xxxxxxxxxxx > To: muglo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [muglo] Upgrading to Leopard??? > Date: Fri, 25 Jul 2008 00:42:43 -0400 > > > Hi > I am planning on upgrading to OSX Lepoard > does anybody know if it works on a iMac800 Mhz Power PC G4 > or does it slow it down way too much=20 > Is anyone out there running Leopard on a 800mhz processor=3F=3F > And how is it working=3F > Thanks > Chris > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > mail2web=2Ecom - Microsoft=AE Exchange solutions from a leading provider -= > > http://link=2Email2web=2Ecom/Business/Exchange > > > ----------------------------------------------------------- > MUGLO information at <http://www.freewebs.com/muglo> > Manage list subscription options at <//www.freelists.org/list/muglo> > ----------------------------------------------------------- _________________________________________________________________ ----------------------------------------------------------- MUGLO information at <http://www.freewebs.com/muglo> Manage list subscription options at <//www.freelists.org/list/muglo> -----------------------------------------------------------
