When you subscribe to a yahoo mailing List, which is what those are,
you have the option of individual emails or a daily digest. Freelist
essentially has the same usability, however the software Ecartis,
which drives Freelist is open source. Yahoo for instance has developed
their own software which drive their lists. The major differences are
that Yahoo's archive is more top-level accessible than the index
Freelists gives. Yahoo has built a GUI which Freelists does not.

Yahoo lists also include advertising, and your subscription info is
Yahoo's property. Freelists does not reuse in any way the subscriber
list info.
