From past posts, my understanding of Theresa's business requires full colour printing(Commercial displays), but for those of us casual printers - do we really need colour? Being an old fart, I remember when virtually all media was black & white. It worked then. After fumbling and cursing my way through many colour inkjet refills, I ended up throwing the printers out. I rely on my trusty 8 year-old Samsung monochrome laser which spits out 3,000 excellent quality pages on a $78 cartridge. I print so few copies now that a cartridge lasts years and is not worth refilling. More and more, I find I'm using my scanner in place of a printer. Instead of printing a recipe, I email it to my iPhone and take that to the kitchen. Now that electronic signatures are legal and all bills and bank statements can be received online , I can't remember the last time I actually mailed something.

Some ramblings on a chilly Saturday afternoon.

Well, I was happy with the mom & pop outlet I was using. I have gone there for 4 years and was happy with the cartridges for my previous printer. It is more a pop & daughter outlet.

The new printer has a panel that shows ink levels. I’m not sure there is any correlation between that and the actual level in the cartridge.

For the color cartridges, it shows less than 50% after 47 pages but shows there are still 924 pages left to go. So, if more than half is used up with 47 pages, how can the remaining half of the ink stretch out over 924 pages? Nonsensical.

I use London Ink on McMaster at Wonderland. They have always given me great customer service. Regarding the ink issue, they find suppliers and have no way of knowing until they or someone runs out, what level of ink or quality of ink is in the cartridges. They do not fill their own, they merely re-sell re-manufactured product.
