A Very long time ago, while I was still a Netscape user, I had the same
problem when I first installed IE as IE imported the existing netscape
settings... if you still have Netscape on your machine, go into to
preferences, e-mail and delete the word Claris if it appears.

I should have said that I am using vers 8.1 and there is no control panel
called "Internet" - I guess it has a different name there??
