Doug, I will suggest that you try one of two things: 1. Create a new user (with admin priviledges) and try to set up your modem there. 2. Create a new "Network" profile and set that up. I am less keen on this option since it retains all the preferences of your current user and doesn't allow you a 'clean slate' for trouble-shooting! Questions: 1. What is your ISP? Bell comes to mind! 2. Does your ISP require that you install special software (Bell asks that you do IIRC) to access their services under OS X. With most ISPs you do not require any extra software, despite what they say (AOHell being the exception).
