We tested unattended upgrades to XP extensively on 2000 & 98 systems, and
decided against it. We had too many glitches involving system downtime &
tech intervention.

We decided to create a base image file for each type of system & install it
over the LAN; then add any custom apps. This solution is less
labor-intensive (even when saving user data & settings), and 100%
successful.

Subject: [mswindowsxp] unattended upgrade

Has anyone had any experience setting up an unattended XP installation? We
are looking to upgrade from NT 4.0 to XP and I was curious if anyone had
any unattended sample files or websites I could browse.

Thanks in advance.
