Yikes! We left all that IRQ nonsense behind us with Win9x. In order to be Windows compliant now, all hardware and software must share IRQs nicely. WHEW! If we can assume that _no_ sound works, then I'd say somebody bumped a wire or plug while messing with the floppy cable. If only the startup or system sounds aren't working then I dunno.
