Hi Thomas, I'm not *totally* sure why the install isn't letting choose the 80gb drive, but the first thing to check is that the BIOS in your machine can see it and recognise it's full capacity. Then you could try setting it as the master and the old drive as slave (or even leaving it out of the machine completely for the moment). Let us know how you go... regards ____________________________________ ,,,,, Neil Atwood - natwood@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 =D4=BF=D4=AC Sydney, Australia=20 Want a good relationship with God? http://lifeworks.toongabbieanglican.org =20 -----Original Message----- From: mswindowsxp-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mswindowsxp-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of TFi2397856@xxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, 11 September 2002 7:39 AM To: mswindowsxp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mswindowsxp] Re: How to install XP to slave hard drive? Hello Folks I would like to install XP to an empty 80 gig hard drive in my computer, but=20 when I run the install disk it only gives me the choice of the main hard drive C with Windows 2000 on it. I picked advanced option and ticked on "let=20 me pick the drive to install on." Any ideas on how to get that install disk=20 to let me install on that slave hard drive? Thank you.
