Usually this error refers to an addin (which I would assume, in your case,
is Norton)...have you checked your addins in Outlook?

What I would do is check your addins...remove any that refer to
Norton...then uninstall Norton COMPLETELY, then try reinstalling Norton

Your addins are located here:
On the Tools menu, click Options.
In the Options dialog box, select the Other tab, and then click Advanced
Options.
In the Advanced Options dialog box, click Add-In Manager.

Subject: [mso] outlook 2002 SP3 runtime error

I am running Outlook 2002 SP3 on a Dell 4300 Pent. IV under Win XP Home. I
recently installed Norton Internet Security 2004 which includes Norton
Antivirus. I use Outlook as my primary e-mail program and it worked fine
until recently when I attempt to launch the program I receive the following
error message: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime Error!
Program: C:************OUTLOOK.EXE abnormal program termination." When I
click OK the program exits to the desktop. The next time I try to start
Outlook It does not show the error message, but it indicates that the
Archive Folders were not closed correctly, it does a file check for errors,
then the program works normally. The program always takes two attempts to
start now. I have searched the MS Office knowledge bases, uninstalled (and
re-installed) the Norton product, and checked Symantec's site for all the
updates. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Dale
