I agree. If telling someone to go and purchase a Word book is that person's
answer, then why are we on this website. Isn't it to get as well as receive
answers.

Note that the "manual" for Word is right within Word. Click Help > Word Help
and click the Table of Contents link in 2003 (or Contents in other version).
Going to a bookstore will allow her to purchase OTHER books about Word, but
the "official user manual" is in electronic version...called Help. (Granted,
it's not as good as some books out there...but telling someone they can buy
a MANUAL for Word at a bookstore is incorrect.
