Thanks for your replies Roy and Bonnie. I was amazed when I stared the boss's
PC this morning, that the Send To function seemed to work fine - not sure why,
or what I have done. Thanks anyway. Actually, I was not sure what you were
telling me to do Roy, but it doesn't matter now!! Thanks for your responses
and for taking the trouble to help. Only problem I have now is with an email
stationery file - when I click on Create Mail, I get the warning about current
security settings prohibiting running ActiveX controls on this page. The email
stationery opens ok, but just would like to get rid of the message. Thanks all,

"Roger" Date: Sun, 21 Nov 2004 23:14:24 -0500 (EST)Hi, I have messed with the
boss's computer, now he wants me to fix it!! In fairness, HE wanted me to
reformat and reinstall everything so I did! (O/S is XP Home with SP2, Office is
2003) Before this, he could send MS Word documents as
attachments to emails using Outlook Express (not liking Outlook) without any
difficulties. After the reinstall, when he first tried, an error message came
up saying something about 'create a profile in Outlook'. Outlook was shown as
the default mail handler. I made OE the default but that didn't help. Then I
modified the installation of Office and deleted Outlook completely since he
does not use it. Now, I get the error message "You must log on to Microsoft
Exchange to access your address book". I have done a search for assistance and
so many 'solutions' seem to be so long and convoluted I am reluctant to try. Is
there a simple remedy to this error message, since we did nothing out of the
ordinary when originally setting up his email account. I have never had
anything to do with MS Exchange and do not know where to start! Hopefully
someone can help me pacify the boss, and if I am fortunate enough to get an
overnight reply I may have it fixed before he comes in tomorrow morni
 ng! Thanks heaps everyone!

Sending Word doc as attachment in OE, - P.S.From: "Roger" Date: Sun, 21 Nov
2004 23:24:17 -0500 (EST)Hi, Further to my previous email on this subject, I
should have made it clear the boss likes to click on the File menu and choose
'Send To', and it is this function that is giving me a problem. There is no
problem sending an Email from Outlook Express and simply attaching a document
as an attachment. Sorry for not making this clear Thanks

similar message with Outlook...Does it make a difference if he tries to send
with OE already open or does the message only appear if he tries to send with
OE closed?Bonnie
