Hello Ray, Try doing a find and replace. Control H Put your cursor in the "Replace With" box and hit the space bar. Hello All, I received a technical paper in the form of a Word document which I am attempting to reformat for inclusion in my club's monthly newsletter. The author wrote this paper on a Mac (I think), and when I open it in Word 2002, most of the text appears to be in "Times" font style. I converted most of it to Times New Roman, but I can't get rid of faint square brackets in some of the sentences. Fortunately when I convert the document to PDF for printing, the faint square brackets disappear. A Google search turned up some info about faint square brackets indicating table of contents entries, but this document doesn't have a table of contents. It does have footnotes on some of the pages. Please tell me what the faint square brackets signify and how to turn them off in the Word 2002 document. Thanks for the help.
