I'm sure the message is not in the task bar. The only thing in the task bar
is the Word document. By the way this is also Windows XP. I forgot to
mention the OS in my previous message. I tried to have the problem occur
again but could not do so before I wrote this message. This is the way it
has been. The problem occurred a couple of times in the past but then not
all the time. It happened when I was pressed for time the other day so that
is why I started trying to fix the problem before it gets worse. For some
odd reason something is wrong with my cursor/mouse. When I sometimes select
something the cursor jumps and something else is selected but I am not sure
if the two are related-I do not think so. Frank

Is the new message shown in the taskbar? If so it may be outside the screen
area. To see it right-click the taskbar item and click Maximise.
