The problem I was collecting was related to the HP 4100 or something like that, I believe? I turned it over to the MVPs and someone, Suzanne Barnhill, I think???...discovered the problem related to HP being discussed on the HP site...so it was tossed up as an HP problem. And they'd promised a new print driver. Don't know if that ever appeared...cos' I don't have that printer. At least, as far as I can remember...that was the only issue I'd been collecting dealing with this one. (Not to mention the OLD HP problem with the 500 series from about 10 yrs ago!) Are you using an HP 4000 or some such number in that general series? Dian D. I remember a year or two ago, Dian Chapman was collecting reports about MSO members' experiences with this error so she could take it to Microsoft and see if they could fix it, and I don't know what came of that. (Apparently nothing yet that has been implemented since the problem is still happening.) I have one client who experiences this on a very regular basis - several times a week I think. It is so annoying (as I'm sure you agree). The only way I've found to get rid of it is a really stupid workaround: go into File-Page Setup and change the paper to A4. Click OK on that box and then go back in and change the paper back to normal letter or legal or whatever you're using and that should fix it. If that doesn't work, sometimes renaming the file with a new name works. But none of these are real solutions. As far as I know it's a bug in Word that has yet to be addressed by Microsoft. Sorry for the rant -- you hit on one of my big Word complaints!! Which version of Word are you using? So far I've seen this happen in Word 2000 and XP. I am not sure if I've seen it in 2003 though, so maybe Microsoft's fix is only in the new version. I have a word document that when I view the header and footer show the footer being only 1/2" or so. However, when I try to set the margin word say there is an error and sets the bottom margin to 2.67" and won't let me go any smaller. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening and more importantly, how to delete it? TIA --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
