1. The only way I know of to get rid of that nagging box where you have to click yes all the time is by using a little freeware program called "clickyes" which just does it for you. I use it for email merges all the time and it works great. You can download it here: http://www.contextmagic.com/express-clickyes/ 2. As far as I know, there's no way to tell Word to send certain messages in one format and others in another (unless it's possible with VBA or something, but I wouldn't know that). So, yes, you could either make a separate Access table for each set of addresses and use one for each...or you can add a field to the access table that specifies which format you want used for that person, then in step 3 of the mail merge, you can click on the Edit Recipients button and use the dropdowns at the top of the field names to choose which ones you want to send to this time (the dropdown would give you the choice of whatever you had in that field...so if you had html for some and rich text for others and plain text for others, you could simply choose which one you want and the merge would be sent to only those that had that format in that field) Linda Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com ABC Free Ezine ~ Free Ebooks and Tutorials *all outgoing mail scanned by Norton AV. If you got a bug that looks like it came from me, it did NOT! -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Scot Jones Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 2004 3:24 PM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Word E-Mail Merge Per Linda's suggestion that distribution lists sent via BCC are being picked up as spam (side note: is it just me, or is it only spammers that can keep up with how to send out a bunch of e-mails and NOT have them labeled as spam?), I have tried an e-mail merge with Word/Outlook 2003. It works great, except: 1. Upon final merge, Word is forcing me to answer "yes" for every individual e-mail (a daunting task for my e-newsletter for Management which is hundreds of names) - citing that if this is unsuspected, it might contain a virus. Is there any way around this? 2. Is there any way to designate which e-mails I would want to send as Rich Text and/or HTML versus plain text, or would I need two separate tables within Access (I have everyone entered in an Access table). Thank You, everyone. And thank you, Linda for this idea. It is much more personal to be able to place people's names throughout the e-mail.
