Linda: You are looking at it like I do, it would be a tremendous project! I can make bookmarks that not a problem! But when this project started in 1997 it was not important that it be click-able <g> Yes you are right it's a big project and I don't have it in one file unless I want it to re-index then I put it all together, I find the index feature works best that way If you try doing it with page numbers it seems to sometimes get lost <g> But as I sit here I just thought someone may have run into this and figured out a way of doing it. I had thought maybe I could do it with a Replace thing some way but it would still take a replace movement for each person or work indexed! Still a lot of work. In fact the Bookmarks would be as large as the index which is some 100 pages now and still adding to this project <g> Take care and any other comments are welcome. But, this is a book with as I said many pages and peoples names are indexed to the pages this name shows up on, some show on many pages, So I am lost as to how doing them in Styles would help? There are some 5000 probably names in the index, I believe I see how and what you mean but it would take many headers to make it work as I see it? I have a lot to learn about Word That's for sure.
