If you are saying that the formula is showing up instead of
the results it's because the cell is formatted as text. Go
into format cells and format it as general, the enter the
formula.

As far as your look up, you say you are trying link the
index number from the census file to the index column on the
revenue file, but the index file is blank. If I understand
correctly, you're trying to populate the index field in the
revenue file with what is in the index field in the census
file, based on the patient account? Your lookup value in
your table array(Census 0904'!A:B,) must be in column A. =20

I am trying to link the index number from the census file to
the index column (blank) on the revenue file.

Position of columns on the Revenue File:

1. Index (Blank Column) =20

2. Patient Account
=20

Position of columns on the Census File:

Position of columns on the Revenue File:

1. Index (Populated w/index number) =20

2. Patient Account
