Hi Robin and welcome....Have you tried running Detect and Repair from
the Help menu in either program? That would be my first suggestion. If
that doesn't fix it, let us know and we can do some more research for
you.

Subject: [mso] Trouble closing office programs - please help

Hello. I am new to this group and I'm hoping someone
here can help me.

I have MS Office 2000 Pro version SR-1a on my
computer. From the time it was installed I have been
unable to close Word or Excel without the program
freezing and giving me a message like this:
"WINWORD.exe has generated errors and will be closed
by Windows. You will need to restart the program."

I checked the Micosoft website which tells me that the
fix for this problem was included with version SR-1a
and suggests I download the update. Since this is the
version I already have, the advice does me no good.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can fix this
problem? I am getting really tired of waiting for
stalled programs to close.

Thanks in advance for any help you could offer. It
will be greatly appreciated.

-Robin
