>But Greg, there ARE times when Word could really benefit from a REAL >reveal codes ability. WORD DOES REVEAL ALL...you just have to know how to read it. Sorry, but I've heard that for 9+ years. "I didn't do anything and all of a sudden everything went whack...Word is crap!" Just the other day I heard a similar complaint. I told the user to send me the doc. Took me all of 3 seconds to turn on the markers and see that they had inserted a column where they didn't want one...which is why the margins weren't going all the way to the right. Another case..."it won't wrap my text and I didn't do anything! I just open Word, add some text and everything go nuts...Word is crap!" I get that doc...5 mins later I discover, by turning on markers and checking the doc...that the user had previously been messing with graphics and managed to put a box inside the header of her normal.dot. Now had she taken a little time to RTFM (=Read the fine manual), she would know you should NOT mess with normal! I removed the textbox that was in her header...that was set to wrap text and all was fine. It's JUST a bunch of computer code put together and will do what you tell it to do. If you tell it wrong...you'll get unexpected results. Sure...sometimes a bug will cause a problem. But the instance of real bugs vs what folks scream about as bugs are about = screams/99.9%, bugs .1%. ;-) Dian Chapman Technical Consultant, Microsoft MVP & Instructor Free Tutorials: www.mousetrax.com/techtrax Free Word Tips & Tricks eBook: www.mousetrax.com/books.html Learn VBA the easy way, thru video! www.mousetrax.com/techcourses.html ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
