Robert,
First, make a back up of your document. That way if the results aren't what
you want, you can go back to the original and try again.

You want to open the Replace box (Edit--> Replace). Don't put any text in
either the find or replace entries. Instead, click the "More" button. With
your cursor in the "Find what:" area, click the "Format" drop down. Select
Style from the list. A window will pop up with the list of styles available
for the document. Select the style you want to replace (Header2 in your
case). Now, move your cursor to the "Replace with:" box and repeat the style
select. This time select Header3. Finally, click the "Replace All" button.

When the replace is done, check that it did what you wanted, save the
document and continue with your work.

Subject: [mso] Replace Headers for TOC in Word?

I am using XP office Word. I have 100s of titles I have made into
Header2 for the table of Contents. Can I change all Header2 and make
them Header3 in one fell swoop without going through them one at a time?

Thank you.

Robert
