Sometimes this occurs when there is some incompatibility in the display driver
which is exposed at the higher hardware acceleration settings for the driver.

Try reducing the setting in the display control panel:
  1) Open "Display" control panel
2) In "Settings" tab click on the "Advanced" button
3) In the "Troubleshoot" tab reduce the level of "Hardware acceleration"
and click "Apply"
4) Repeat step 4 until flashing stops, then click "OK"

Here is a link about how to set graphics hardware acceleration back
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00129.htm

Hope this helps,

  Hutch

We are using Powerpoint 2003 with Wndows XP. We have an org chart slide
that was created in Powerpoint. When we open the slide in normal view,
the slide flashes over and over, continually and doesn't stop. It
almost looks like either a key is stuck on the keyboard, or there is
very quick animation stuck in a loop. There is no animation or action
on the slide and it only happens on this one slide in the presentation,
so it isn't a key stuck. It displays fine in slide show view.
Has anyone ever seen this problem before and know the solution? Our
internet access is down, so I can't get to the knowledge base to search
right now.
