Cathy, While movies can't be embedded, the options provided will work on any system if you do the link after you do the copy. If the movie is in the same folder as the presentation, it doesn't matter where that folder is. PowerPoint will always look for linked items where it is. (So, your users don't have to have the same file structure as you, they just need to have the movies in the same folder as the presentation.) I don't remember which version you are using, but if it is PPT 2003, you might look into the Package for CD functionality. It allows you to package to a folder as well, which you could then zip. The end users could then unzip the presentation and have it run. Another option if you have either PPT2002 or 2003, is to look at publishing the presentation as an MHT (single file web archive). In this format, your content will all be in one file and anyone with a copy of IE can open it and play it. A regular web setup may not fix your problem either, since the browser will still be working with absolute paths for the movies. The links have been helpful. My suspicion is confirmed that they can't be embedded, which is highly disappointing. The end users won't be on my server, they don't have access to mine, I don't have access to theirs, the presentation will be sent via email. Maybe could figure out how to bundle movies and presentation so they will unzip together per recommendations, to a certain folder on their system, but that's out of my knowledge. Anyone know how to create a batch file that will unzip to specific locations or some variation of that idea? I am also experimenting with creating a web version of the presentation to see if that resolves problem and behaves the way I want it to, but haven't had a chance to test it on another machine yet. Otherwise will go back to plan "B" of pasting separate pictures instead of movies. Appreciate the help/advice very much, thanks, Cathy ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
