This is really getting to me. Previous to Word 2007 it was so easy to
install page numbers on your documents without including the page number on
the first page. Now it is almost impossible to do that in Word 2007. This
is taking a lot of my time. I can get every page to show the same number
with the number not showing on the first page. I can get the first page to
show a number with the other pages not showing a number. I can get all the
pages to show the same number. However I cannot get the first page to not
show a number and the other pages starting with page 2 showing the number 2
and page 3 showing the number 3, etc. I try to follow the instructions in
Help for showing page numbers. The other idiotic thing is that somehow I
had successfully started to have my documents not show a number on the first
page and start showing the numbers sequentially, starting with 2 on the
second page but the process comes and goes on new documents, sometimes
working correctly and sometimes not working correctly without me doing
anything different. I cannot believe those Microsoft engineers can get
things so mixed up when everything was so simple, correctly carried out and
straightforward previously.
