The next version of Office (that contains a PDF format save option) won't be
out until the first quarter of 2007, it's being delayed because Vista (the
next version of Windows) is delayed from the end of 2006 to the beginning of
2007 at this point...and MS wants them both to come out together...or so all
the media reports claim. ;-)

In fact, Steve Sinofsky (who was head of Office) was recently put in charge
of Windows to MAKE SURE it keeps on schedule as well as Office "was" on
schedule. (Steve is a way cool guy and people just bust their butts for him
BECAUSE he's such a neat guy!) So the schedules should be save now with him
in charge of both.<smile>

You can read more about Office 12 and PDFs, here:

As for 3rd party PDF plug-ins for Word...there are bunches of them out
there...check Google.

Linda,

I do love the 'yet' ... do you have a date when MS and Adobe merge? And (if
not) how do we stand with Office 3rd Party Plugins?
