Hi Errol...I really don't know what to tell you. I've only seen problems
with people RECEIVING attachments...not sending them....the only thing I
could think to tell you is to go into the properties for that email account
and check the Advanced tab and see if something weird is set up for breaking
up attachments over a certain size. I assume you've also tried with some
teeeny weeeeny text file attachment and it still doesn't work?

Seems to me like it has to be something with size.

Can he receive attachments?

Have you tried a Detect and Repair? Reinstalling Outlook?

Right now I'm RIPPING mad at Hostway, my domain host...their reply to my
concern was basically "too bad. We ain't changin it cuz of security reasons"

Who gives these people the right to STEAL my mail? grrrrrr

Linda
I hope you don't mind a re-send of this problem but we are desperate for
some direction. Our IP categorically says the problem is locally based on
this computer but everything seems OK. Any ideas will be appreciated. TIA.
On a friend's computer he is unable to send e-mail with attachments. He is
using Outlook 2000 running Win98SE. He gets no warning that anything is at
fault. The letter and attachment get routed to the sent directory as if it
had been sent correctly. The letter simply does not arrive. I know this
because after not receiving such a letter (and also not receiving it when he
sent it to my Hotmail account, as well) we did a series of experiments.
Anything sent without an attachment arrived fine, with an attachment didn't.
As I said NO letter of refusal to be sent or "bounce-back" was received
(also not by the recipient). We involved the IP provider and the same thing
occurred - with attachment didn't arrive , without did. Their conclusion was
that something was incorrectly setup on my friend's computer. I checked all
configurations and cannot find anything amiss.
Any ideas?

Errol
