When you get the illegal operation, is there a button that says "Details"?
If so, click on that and tell us what it says

When I do a search on " outlook illegal operation recurring appointment"
everything I see says to reinstall Outlook 98 right over top of itself..have
you tried that? No need to uninstall Outlook and lose stuff, just reinstall
it right over top of itself.

Good luck,

Subject: [mso] Outlook 98 Calendar Problem

Hi There,

Every time I try to modify a recurring date in my calendar, Outlook
gives me a Illegal Operation message and then shuts down. I am able
to access the "recurrence" window but as soon as I try to change the
date for the activity, I get the message. It will allow me to totally
delete the activity or add a new activity. My inclination is to just
deal with it assuming that I'd have to re-install Outlook to fix this
but I thought I'd ask this most experienced and learned group for
advice first.

Regards,

Chuck Balogh
