Aha, I see...you were referring to Windows XP not auto-running data CDs in
general and not the Office XP CD not autorunning specifically....I didn't
understand...sorry for the insinuations but I've only ever seen that
particular problem with software when it is a burned copy that was burned
incorrectly.

Yes Linda it is a legal copy of Office. He purchased it the same time
as the laptop. He had clicked the "take no action" when a previous CD
was installed in the drive. It was late last night when I was working
on the computer and I must not have rebooted after changing the autorun.
It worked fine this morning. Got Office installed, setup, and
registered. Thanks for your response. George
