Dian,

That's the whole point of VBA, if you know the object models you can program
any of the Office applications to work with any other Office application. I
have used Access VBA to use Powerpoint and Outlook both. I don't know the
Word object model quite as well but given a little time, I could open it up
and use it as I liked. I have also used Excel through Access as well.

I would love to see them combine the Access concatantion ability and Word's
formatting into the Access reporting module. You said you could fit pages
in a single field in Word. Is there any way to make the fields shrink to
fit whatever is entered if you aren't using Access as a backend? I
personally hate using merge or even protected fields because if the input is
too short, it tends to leave ugly gaps.

James

Yeah, but can you program Excel to work with Access?<smirk>

The facts are that more people have Word on their computers than they do
Access. And more folks use Word than Access OR Excel. And if you build a
solution in Word with Access...you don't need Access to even be on your
computer! Yet the DB will still run and you just use it like any other
document/software. And that's not only cool...but hits the largest market of
users...those who can open a document/letter in Word. Granted...Excel is #
2...but I believe PPT might even run # 3 versus Access????

And as for Word outputting prettier documents than Excel, that's fightin'
talk, Dian.
