I feel the categorization of "these kinds of discussions" is a bit vague and am quite sure that I might vote YES in some cases and NO in others, but I am voting YES for this particular discussion thread. My vote is a selfish one as someone who receives the digest version, has cable modem, and is therefore not as easily annoyed if my mailbox on some days contains more of this kind of mail than others. I know I certainly learn a LOT reading the opinions of Linda and the other Office gurus. Sometimes not just knowing the step-by-step on how to do something is not quite enough. The kind of background provided by these discussions is valuable to me as long as it stays on-topic, and I thought this one absolutely did stay on-topic. Presenting rationales for the use of Access vs. Excel in different situations is great and I don't see it as "emotion". Although it may be personal opinion to some degree, we all know there's more than one way to skin a cat and the personal opinions of the experts on this list is something I always want to hear. Thanks, Linda, for letting us all have our say:) Enjoy your time away! Diane ************************************************************************ * --- ORIGINAL MESSAGE --- From: "Linda F.
