It's a common troubleshooting fix for this problem.

Well Dian...I know it's not my video driver cuz it happens to me on all
three of my machines and the only common denominator for me is that I
use scroll mice on all three and pushing down the scroll button always
stops it.

I agree it *could* be a video problem, but in my case, I don't *think*
so, since I use totally different video cards on each machine and they
all have current drivers.

Sounds like your video driver. You can see if this is the problem by
kicking down the hardware accelerator or application boost, to take up
less resources and give your video driver a little more resources to
work.

Depending on the operating system you're using, go to the control
panel/System/Performance. There you'll find either the Graphics hardware
accelerator or the application boost. If you're on 9x, it'll be the
graphic slide, kick it down two marks. If on an NT+ system, kick the app
boost down one.

Then reboot and see if it stops. If it does, go to your video driver
manufacturer web site and download an updated video driver. You can read
details of this test at www.mousetrax.com/maintain.html.
