Groups are automatically expanded into the individual addresses so emails can
be sent since the Group name is not really an address.

The only way to hide addresses is by using BCC (Blind Carbon Copy). When
composing an email in Hotmail click on "Show Cc & Bcc" to the right of the From
address. That will add the boxes where Cc and Bcc addresses can be added.

For Groups I usually use a dummy address for "To:" such as "undisclosed
recipients" and then paste the Group into Bcc. You will have to create an
address (account) for "undisclosed recipients" which could be your address
before creating an email.

  Hi!

New to the forum, but I have a question concerning hiding individual e-mail
addresses in a group e-mail using Windows Live Hotmail. I initially entered
each address then put them in a group, so when I addressed the e-mail my To
line only had the group name. However when it actually got sent out, all the
recipient's e-mail addresses appeared instead of the group name. Can anyone
explain how I can hide their e-mail addresses? Thanks in advance!

Kathy
