[mso] Re: Frequent Save Changes Prompt in Word 2002

But there are different versions of "doc". Some say Word 97, etc....but
there's one that just says Word Document (*.doc)

I doubt if you sent me the file, it would do the same thing....but you can,
if you want to...if it doesn't do it here, then we know it's not the actual
document, but something you have set up in Word or something wrong with Word
...if it DOES do it here, then maybe I can figure out what it is....so send
it to me, if you want.

Hi Linda,

You said:
<<NO VERSION SPECIFIC STUFF....THEN, try opening one of them and do
File>Save
As and save it as the same exact type you chose in Tools>Options, then close
it and open it again and see if you get the normal.dot prompt.>>

In all cases, the only file type used is DOC.

As you suggested, I opened one of the "offending" documents and did
File>Save
As using the same file type (DOC). The "Save changes" prompt came up again
when I re-opened and tried to close the file.

This is really a trivial problem, however, if you are curious about this
glitch, I could send you one of the offending files off list.

Regards,

Ray Shapp
