It is difficult (although not impossible) to apply character formatting such 
as bold to part of the text generated by a formula.  Don't bother with it.

If you want to apply text formatting (e.g. "dd/mm/yyyy") to a cell's value 
that you're including in a formula, look at the Text function.

  ="I am on holidays and will be back on "&TEXT(E3,"dddd dd-mmm-yyyy")
