Ray: The bookmarks may be created for any number of reasons, including = copying material between documents. In all likelihood, you author may be = unaware of the bookmarks. In Word 2000, you can remove them by clicking Insert > Bookmark. Make = sure "Hidden bookmarks" is checked (I think you may have to clear and = check it to make the list show the hidden bookmarks). Select the = bookmarks one-by-one, and click Delete.
