What do you mean when you say it doesn't work? Did you follow Ray's
instructions and use this formula?
=SUM(source1:source50!F8)
If that doesn't work, tell us what you mean when you say it doesn't work.
What happens? Do you get an error message? Do you get the wrong answer?
What "doesn't work"?

That seems not to work for some reason
I have the following scenario
Work.xls
top.sheet F8
want to SUM source1!f8:source2!f8 ... source50!f8
want the sum of all 50 sheets in the same cell as the calling
sheet... found one way, but it is very cumbersome, and lots of keying
....
