[mso] Re: Excel Date Format Problem

I'd like to thank you and everyone for your help. I have learned new
information to help me in future spreadsheets. I don't think there is much I
can do with this spreadsheet. I believe the source of the data is the problem,
which is really no problem. I just wanted to change the appearance of the data.

Thank you
Wendall

I recommend that you get a new spreadsheet and type a few dates into it,
then experiment with the formatting change.  If it doesn't change properly
there, then you're doing something wrong.  Get back to us with information
on exactly what you're doing.

If it's OK there, but not in your imported sheet, you need to check on
whether the date is in a cell formatted as text.  If it is, then changing
the format will not change the look directly.  You need to convert the date
to a date first, then you'll be able to change its look with the formatting.

To do this, set a date format for the cell that matches what it looks like
already.  Then F2 the cell and hit enter.  The information should now be
stored as a date, and new formats should be acted on.

Regards, Dave S
