Don, there's a beautifully easy way to do this. First of all, get the second sheet into the same workbook (you can drag and drop the tabs as long as your window isn't maximised.) Then you can use the VLOOKUP command to lift the appropriate data from the second sheet. After you've done this, you can simply fix the data by performing a copy on the operation, then a paste special - values only. After that, dump the second sheet. It's one of those that's much easier to do than explain. The Excel help file should get you there, but if you want to email me the sheets with details, I'll be happy to take a look at it for you. One has the names I need (about 75), the other has the names I need plus others (about 150). I want to pull the value out of one column from the spreadsheet with 150 names and use it in the other spreadsheet with 75 names. The additional names and values are of no use. I don't know if it would be easier to edit the long sheet manually to match the short sheet then copy and paste, or if there is an easier way to accomplish this. Thanks for you input and your help in the past.
