Break out your Office XP CD...use the Add/Remove feature and mark all the
Smart Tags, under Office Tools, with an X for not available. Then run the
setup to uninstall those items.

Subject: [mso] Embedded smart tags

Does anyone know how to permanently disable the 'Embed smart tags' option?
I can disable it in a specific document by going though Tools, Options. Its
sticks for that document but when I open up a new document, it's back to
being enabled.
I've changed my normal.dot template and that works for any new document that
I create. The problem is when I save a document as .htm and then reopen it.
The 'Embed smart tags' option is checked. How can I prevent this? Thanks
for any help.
