<< the only way of putting things in a listbox is to use some sort of recordsource or array?>> Well, I'm no Access whiz, but I can tell you that if you use a Lookup data type, you certainly can enter your own list without using a recordsource or array. The very first step of the wizard gives you the option to "I will type in the values I want" ... And the same goes for putting a List Box in a form...when you insert it in Design View, again, the wizard pops up and gives you that same choice...so I'm not sure why you are saying it's not possible...it sure is in every install of Access that I've ever seen. Importing complete... Processing records... and so on. In word VBA I've used a listbox for this sort of thing and just added rows one at a time as needed. I'm now trying the same thing in Access. Can someone confirm for me that this isn't possible in access as the only way of putting things in a listbox is to use some sort of recordsource or array? If anyone has any thoughts of how to do this status thing in a different way in Access I'd very much like to hear from you please.
