Didn’t know you had a plate full. But, I had eye opperations during that time
and had a few things on mine as well. Was it her that had Geraldeen the duck? I
remember missing a little school and coming back to hear about the baby duck. I
came in the classroom close to the time she was getting to big to stay there
anymore! But, I did meet her and heard the slap of those big, bare duck feet on
that hard floor! Also she stole a button off my shirt! Never had that much fun
coming back to school!

I remember the years we had Miss Dean as our teacherwith fondness. I think it
was beause that was the beginning of the end of my parent’s marriage. The
memories I have of those two years, making pumpkin pie and bread, going on the
train, the bakery… Those were memories that sustained me through what was
happening at home.

Do you remember when Miss Dean had us clean out a pumpkin and then she cooked
down the meat of it and we made pumpkin pie? The reason I’m asking, is my
husband and I were talking about buying a pumpkin and doing that.
