Well, the books and things might be missed butt, could be replaced by
electronic versions. In fact, I remember testing a taped version. But, the
trophies and awards! the uniforms and other things that make history a little
more personal.

Hi Marie,
When you think about it, it is still quite sad to think that a lot of that
stuff that was such a big part of our history was just thrown out like for
instance, the World Book Encyclopedia. I can only imagine how much it cost to
be that complete set of encyclopedias. I am happy to hear that many of the
Braille books were sent overseas though . Hopefully other students from around
the world will benefit from them as we did.

If I remember correctly the band and orchestra placks that were hung in Lions
Hall went to Flint when the schools were combined.

Well I either sold or gave away my alto saxaphone, because I didn’t think I’d
be playing it much after graduation, and band was over.

Sure we are! My curosity with the trophies is that I wouldn’t want them to
get burried somewhere! I would hope that they get displayed somewhere so that
Michigan’s history of the blind isn’t lost. After all, many of us put our
brains and brawn into them.

There is a lot of history from MSB that no one knows where it went and that
is sad! We are all a part of that history also....

I'm particularily interested in trophies and such because of the history
attached to them. I got to thinking about them last night while I was thinking
about the fire at Carols Moms a couple of years ago. Virginia had a couple of
gold medals that were lost. She could get a certificate to prove she got them
but, the medals can't be replaced.

Well Larry, I too have wondered about what happend to the various
properties of MSB! I spent quite a bit of time in the library and would have
liked some of the books. I don't know about the trophies either. I am aware
of state auctions which take place several times a year, which could have
included furniture etc. Personally I do have the band metals with ribbons
accumulated through six years of band. Good question though Larry! Perhaps
someone will know as to where some of this stuff has gone.

Well, not to open the big debate of whether or not the school should have
been closed or not. It is! But, what about the smaller celebrity stuff? The
trophies that were won by our Raiders! I can see where a lot of stuff could
have went out to places to help teach others like all of the braille equipment,
instruments and all of the other stuff. And, someone could have used it! I sure
wantedd one of those piccolos! But, where did the trophies and awards go? We
had awards not only in athletics but also in band and forensics and probably in
things I don't know about! Are they on display somewhere? If we talked about
this, I must have missed something. The awards may be the only things left of
our history when we all fly out of here! Intelligence is always claimed but,
