Randy was different, but he had an interesting sense of humor.
He used to call everybody lids, which is a derogatory term ham radio operators
call people on the CB radio.
And he used to tease Reggie Scherik all the time, especially in band class.

I agree Rich. I always admired Randy's intelligence. And yes his horse Winnie
was the best. I think he may have been a genius and that is why he may have
been a little different.

Randy was, lets just say different. Smart dude though. He did the best
horse Winnie imitation I've ever heard! LOL.

    Hi Inge,

Mary and I were just discussing your daughter. Is her name Maggie? It has
been so long and my brain cells are disappearing at an alarming rate.

We hope all is well with you.

    Warmest Regards,

You might be interested to know that Randy donated his MSB yearbook for the
year that Stevie Wonder and some of you graduated to the APH museum. It became
part of the display that included Stevie's old piano from school. And I realize
that including the rest of you and Stevie in the same sentence probably raised
blood pressure 20 points, but folks do love celebrities...

We had moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the end of May, 2014. He was
looking forward to spring here. It was a massive stroke, very sudden, and a
complete surprise, since he had checked out okay at the doctor in December... I
was planning on coming back to the area in the Fall for nostalgic reasons. Now
I hope to sprinkle some of his ashes on the old MSB campus, possibly in the
company of some of his friends, and then go out for a feed after, since it's
what Randy would suggest. I'll let you know closer to the time when.

    Hi,

Oh man, that is too bad. Was he still living in Louisville? Please keep
us posted on future activities for Randy.

    Thanks.

    Warmest Regards,

    Well, we lost another alumni.

    Randy Formenti, class of 1970.

I got a call tonight from Inge, his ex-wife. He had a major stroke last
night and passed away.

She is going to join the list so hopefully people can share some memories.

No funeral arrangements. She is hoping to come up to Lansing in the Fall
and possibly get together with some of us for lunch and scatter some of his
ashes at MSB.

He is survived by his mother, Irene, his sister Jill both of Phoenix, his
brother Dave who I think is in California.

    Steve
    Class of 72
