Hi Peggy, Joyce might not wanted to tell anyone. She may have been afraid
people would chun her. I always thought she was a very sweet person and always
got along with her.

  Hi Marcia,
Of course, I was not there when you all lived in South wing 1, but I had no
idea that Joyce Belding had tuberculosis when she was small and had to be sent
away for such a long time to spend time in a sanatorium to get over the
illness. She had never mentioned that to me and we were friends all throughout
highschool. I had no idea.

  Hi Marie,
Thanks for filling me in on why Joyce had been gone for such a long time. I
remember she was gone, but not the reason.
That’s right, I forgot Joyce had a daughter.

  Hay Marcia:

Remember when we were on south wing one, Joyce Belding had tuberculosis and
she was in a T B sanitarium for about a year. I can't remember any more
details than that. She did come to one of the Alumni Association--MSB reunions,
maybe 1996. It was one of those years when we were allowed to have them on the
MSB campus. She and Sandra Tuscany came for the weekend and If I remember
correctly she had her daughter there.

  Hi Marcia,

I spoke with Toni tonight and we got to talking about Joyce and several
others who have died, and she said she thought Joyce died from lung cancer and
funny thing is, she never even smoked. And yes Jim, in answer to your question,
she was in cottage c and graduated the same year I did, in 1970. We were good
friends.

I’m pretty sure Joyce died in 2003, but I don’t know the cause.

I don’t remember, but I used to ride the bus home to Ypsilanti and back with
her; she lived in Cottage C and I believe graduated in ‘70.

Oh I didn't know Joyce Belding passed away. When and how did that happen?

  Hi Steve,
Yes, I had heard that Albert had passed but I did not know what he died from.
That is a shame. It is really weird to think about how many in our particular
class have passed already. Counting Larry Yanchus we have lost 5 of our
classmates.
Sandy (Penman) Shimun, Joyce Belding, Sharon Wilson, Bill Donbroski, and now
Larry.
I tell you, that really brings one back to reality and rattles your cage.

By the way, Peggy, he used to be a prolific poster on this list. He passed
away about four years ago from cancer.
