with Terri and Lindell.
I didn't know either of them very well, but knew Lindell more than Terri.
I remember Lindell as being a quiet person.
So glad Terri is doing well after her various surgeries.

Wow! Fred! A friend like Lindell, I couldn’t agree more. That’s another thing
Terri and I discussed. Lindell Kositzke from the great class of 72, is not
hearing things very well any more. Terri says that he says, his fingers are
too big, to wear hearing aids. Afraid he’ll lose them. My response was, he
has good insurance, so what’s the problem? She also told me he takes the dog
walking, but won’t take his cane. He’s fallen into the ditch too. So, yeah, he
needs to use his cane! Anyway, everyone needs to befriend Lindel and Terri.
Great people. Oh, by the way, Terri is still cancer free. Remember, back in
2012, she had a brain tumor which was found to be cancerous? She said she
still has to wear a brace on her left leg sometimes, and since she’s had left
shoulder replacement, can’t lift her left arm, any higher than her elbow. I
told her, maybe the tumor has affected that too. Anyway, I’ve probably said
too much personal stuff here, but thought you all might like to know some
things you didn’t know before.

Well Fred, I didn’t know Dave very well, so I won’t comment about that part of
your message. However, regarding Lindel, he is one of the most generous people
I know. He would give you the shirt off his back if you wanted it. He’s very
helpful and kind, and he is a good buddy.

Lindell Kositzke asked me a few days ago to let everyone know that Dave had
died. When I looked, it seemed that everyone knew, so, I did not write
anything.
I do wish to comment about Dave. He was a really nice person who always would
do what he could to help others. He never seemed to have very good health.
Dave lived here in Lansing for many years. He operated a Moped repair business
in Northtown, as we called it, near the railroad tracks on Grand river. He
also did Braille writer repairs. I had him repair quite a few machines. His
prices were reasonable and he did good work. The NFB gets Braille writers
occasionally mostly from families of people who have died and they don’t know
what to do with them. We give them to blind folks who need them. Whenever we
got one that had problems, I called Dave and he fixed them up. He also worked
for my neighbor on a few occasions to fix his lawn mowers and snow blowers.
I do not know much about his personal life. He and Lindell were quite close
and Lindell did a lot to help when Dave was in a nursing home near Lapeer. I
have to say that everyone ought to have a friend like Lindell. He is always
doing good things for folks and his care for Dave when Dave could not care for
himself is exemplary. Lindell also helps some others around town who don’t have
all the help they need.
I lived with Dave in Cottage C in 9th grade, so, I have known him a while.
Dave’s contributions will be missed. He did his very best to be a good person.
I am sorry he died and especially that he died in a nursing home. At least he
had people who cared and that is something we all can hope for.

Since were talking about Spencer either David or Dale, I thought I would
contribute to the thread. I do remember David and I do remember Dale. I don’t
believe that Dale was attending the school for the blind for any length of
time. It seems to me that he came when he was 11 or 12 or 13. The one time that
I actually had an interaction with Dale, there were several of us sitting
behind the main building on the hill or near anyway the dining room. Dale had a
pair of binoculars and was checking out the girls windows. That’s all I
remember, but I also remember thinking that that was very interesting that he

He didn’t graduate from MSB, but Marie, did clarify that he did attend MSB. He
probably graduated from Port Huron, if he graduated at all. He was rather a
party animal, rode his moped motor cycle all around Lansing. Marcia, I am
surprised you didn’t meet him at one of my parties, back in the day. He
definitely was one of a kind. Good hearted though. Give you the shirt off his
back, if he could help.
